About Artist Suzanne Sheran and Works of Arf

I love dogs and I love to paint. Works of Arf is the merging of the two- the perfect crossbreed, if you will. I am a fine artist trained at the University of Michigan, NYU and the School of Visual Arts and my passion for dogs is a lifelong one. As a child I donated my weekly allowance to the Humane Society and dreamed of having a dog of my own. That dream wasn’t fulfilled until I was an adult, but it was worth the wait. I got my Wheaten Terrier, Lucy in 2015 and I fully credit her with starting my business. A single portrait I did of her on a whim has developed into a joyous business that celebrates the special love people have for their dogs. My paintings are realistic, but they are loose, alive and informal and I have an innate ability to capture your dog’s personality along with her likeness.  Works of Arf are full of love and memories. They are works of art celebrating your best friend.

In addition to my private commission work I donate my art and time to help raise funds for animal shelters, rescues and sanctuaries including the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, the North Shore Animal League, PRoud Rescuers of Puerto Rico and Elephant Nature Park in Chang Mai, Thailand.
